L’Oréal Canada employees participated in the 6th L’Oréal Citizen Day held in Montreal on July 15 and in Toronto on July 28, in which they dedicated one day to helping local community organizations.

This year, with the help of Volunteer West Island, L’Oréal Canada partnered with Moisson Montréal, the largest food bank in Canada; Welcome Hall Mission, which actively works at reducing poverty in the city; and Héritage Laurentien, whose mission is the protection and enhancement of the natural environment. L’Oréal Canada employees took part in  concrete actions such as collecting and sorting food and clothing, gardening, cleaning and beautifying green spaces throughout the day. At Welcome Hall Mission, for instance, almost 1000 backpacks were assembled and prepared for underprivileged children so they could be ready for back to school.

In addition, several employees from the L’Oréal Canada Distribution Center in Saint-Laurent, prepared 1580 L’Oréal products kits which were distributed to 13 shelters across Montreal.

In Toronto, employees prepared food baskets at the Toronto Daily Bread Food Bank which supports close to 200 food programs across Toronto. A food drive was also organized by employees at the L’Oréal Academy.
